9 today baby! wooo! Ran from Danish Rd to Wasatch and down and around to the back side of Dimple Dell. It felt really far. Plus alot of hills, ive never run a long run with that many hills before. It was hard in spots and then really nice in others. I feel it went well, but that last mile was killer for me. Does that always happen? Does the last mile always have to be hard no matter how far you go?

Alot of fun, I thought I did pretty well, I think I beat my last time but im not positive. Scott did it in 23 minutes so pretty much I want to kill him. His idea of training is to do nothing for a month and then go run up Mt. Olympus as fast as he can and then go do a 5k and beat everyone. What a total punk. My daughter Izzy took 3rd in her age division and got a medal so that was fun for her. My other daughter got sick to her stomache so she walked and came in around 45 minutes. I felt bad for her but when she got to the last stretch Gretch and I ran in with her and  held her hands up and cheered, she was kind of mad bc she hates attention, but we were trying to help her feel good about it. She was smiling even though she kept saying to stop. But it was a fun way to start out the 4th!! Good times.

5 Today. Felt good, im getting nervous bc the provo river 1/2 is fast approaching. Im doing some speed work tmrw and xt on thurs. Then im doing my 10 miler this week. Im hoping i dont bonk in the last 3 miles this year like I did last year. Everything ive read says that speed work and hills help with that so I guess I hope its true. Im rambling I know, I just couldnt stop thinking about it today on my run. Only about 4 weeks left and i'll be at the top of Provo canyon! Then 2 weeks after that I will be at the Hobble creek! aahhh! I wish 1/2 marathons went year round in Utah, that would really help me with running through the winter.

I actually went on a 10 mile bike ride but im guessing that equalls about 4 miles. I wouldnt even think it equalled that much except that I biked a bunch of hills so im adding a little to make up for that. It was fun, it burns my hamstrings which is good bc that is my weakest muscle and the one that always makes me feel myself slouching when im tired in a run.

Let me just start by saying I guess the important thing is, is that I did it. We chose to go a route that had alot of hills again and I think that wiped me out long before it should have. I usually dont feel that crappy on a long run. I got a side ache at 4.5 miles that forced me to walk and you know how once you walk, its hard to get going again. I mean really going. Also I felt like throwing up the last 3 miles, I think it was the powerade. Im still trying to stomache those drinks. I know they're good for you but they make me want to puke. And it also didnt help me that there is tension on the homefront right now. So I guess mentally I wasnt as prepared as I needed to be. BUT I did it. I finished, and im done. Next week im choosing a less hilly route and hoping things go better.

Ran from 12300 South on 7th East to about 8000 South and then back again. No traffic on the way North but alot on the way back. Felt really good, felt like I couldve kept going but hubby was waiting for me to get home so he could go to work. I like burning 1,325 calories though. Thats never a bad thing.

I was planning on going 5 or 6 but I got new shoes on saturday. They're asics and they felt great in the store but on the road, I had to stop 3 times to do adjustment bc my toes kept going numb. I loosened the laces so much to try and get the circulation going that my ankle started to get irritated so I ran home. I will be returning these today.

Got some Nike's yesterday, they're super wide so thats good, since my feet are gargantuantly wide. Helped with the numbness, it still was there a little but I go through this a little with each new pair of shoes i get. These will work out though I think. Tmrw im doing hills and maybe that will help me feel a little stronger than I do right now for the 10K on friday. If I feel then like I do now, it will be a very slow, easy 10k for me. I guess I shouldnt put so much pressure on myself, it messes me up in the head.

word of the week is "hungover" and I dont even drink so I cant explain the headache and glued shut eyes and irritable exhaustion ive been feeling. But today I fought it and got in some miles. Once I was out there I felt pretty good so maybe my body is hungover from lack of running? I need to take the Nike's back though, they were really buggin today. Im going to have to go back to the old trusty saucony's even though I feel like they make them a little on the heavy side. So far of all the shoes ive had, they are the best in the long run {literally}

did an easy 2 and then a hilly more difficult 2 and then a flat back to home. Was good but Erin ditched out again and im getting worried for her. She hasnt run with me since last tuesday and our 1/2 is next weekend. I know she will be able to do it, I just hope she doesnt bonk out too bad like I did last year. I hope I dont bonk out this year!

Meant to go 6 today but my "runs" woke me up at 5:30 am again and so by 6:15 I thought I felt good enough to go and I didnt get as far as I had hoped bc I began to feel nauseous. Becca and Erin came today and Becca was having tailbone issues from an injury so needless to say, our intentions were good but it just didnt work out that way today. I guess I should be grateful I got in that at least. I dont have time to be feeling sick right now, ive got to be training. Im nervous, but I guess there isnt much I can do about it now is there? I will try yoga and strength training this afternoon.
