Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep Running and  Never Give up!

Personal:

Married, 4 kids, started running to lose mommy weight and have alone time. Now I run bc of EVERYTHING

strength, sanity, awareness, confidence, attitude, health, peace, life, and Because I CAN

Drove up to Centerville with Scott to do the same 5k we did last year. Met JD, Mrs. JD and my brother in law Gary. It was fun! I thought for a minute I beat my B.I.L. but no such luck. He came in about 45 seconds faster or something annoying like that. I thought it would be a long shot to beat him anyway, so I was happy I at least got close to him! JD kicked butt again. Mrs. JD kicked butt again. And my hubby who HARDLY ever exercises came in at 25 minutes. JERK! Fun morning!

tried to run with Kath this morning, she has a foot injury and was limping so we just went on a walk. Going to the running store in a bit to try and figure out what she can do to help/fix it. She is MAD! I feel bad for her.

edit: went out again around 3:00 for only one mile to see how her new shoes and inserts helped. Other than a little tenderness she felt good. So hopefully it was just a shoe issue.

Ran 3 with Kathryn around 11:30. Crazy to be able to run at that time of day in July. Her foot feels better with her new shoes which is awesome. Felt good to get out there. I needed it.

Ran a mile up Millcreek Canyon with Kathryn and then 4 miles down. We were running up and I told her to just go ahead of me, so she put on her jet pack and took off. {female version of my husband in more ways than one} Then we turned around and ran 4 down to our car. She was a football length ahead of me the whole time and I was running 8:30 avg. So she had to have been pulling 7's or even 6's. It was Stacie all over again. Me chasing someone way ahead of me.

It was beautiful and I love that canyon. Lots of people out this morning. Good Times. Good way to start the day. :) Happy.

Ran 3 up to the stop sign and back down with Kath. 9:30 avg. Both of us a little sore from the canyon still. Felt good.

Tried to fit in 4 but had to make it back home to get my girls to camp. Nice morning. Saw Jeff running down NC when I was running up.

Slow easy 5. 10:11 avg. My mileage this summer has been poopy and I'm feeling it for sure. But really, I'm not that concerned about it. Its kind of been nice to just go with the flow. I bought some chaco flip flops at the running store yesterday. Ive never paid so much for flip flops in my life. Luckily they were on sale but even on sale they were pricey. I'm thinking that I need a little more arch support to walk around during the day then my old navy flip flops give me. Hoping it helps the PF a bit. Still focusing on mid-strike. I have to consciously think about it and I definitely forget. But its all good.

Really nice morning. Good temps. Woke up at 6:15 to go, got Scott out of bed so he could go on a bike ride. Felt good to go. Going to see Harry Potter with all the Smiths today and then adult night out tonight. {muchly needed time away from the kids.} :)
