Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

Keep Running and  Never Give up!

Personal:

fighting either allergies or a cold. Rolled myself out of bed early and with blood shot eyes took off into the blinding streets as the sun was coming up over the mountain. Felt pretty wasted. Also felt pretty good to breath hard. Poopy run. Happy to be running.

edit..except its Tuesday and I just posted this on Monday. Whatever.

Went to bed last night at 8:30 with a headache the size of Texas. Woke up this morning at 7:00 to go running, got ready, went running. Got about a half mile into it when my head started to pound. Turned around, went home, took advil and allergy medicine. Drank h20 and DC. Waited. Went again at 9:00. Felt much better. Not dead yet. It was hot. Note to self. Next time bring water. Peace out.

SLRC had a good article yesterday on FB about PF. So today I focused on doing the mid-strike. As soon as I did I noticed an increase in speed right away. It was easy to do it on my right foot bc it actually provided relief from the PF pain and my silver dollar size blister that manifests itself everytime I run. The blister isn't painful anymore, just annoying. But It was nice to not put pressure on either of those things. But I feel like I was overcompensating a bit and then putting more pressure on my left foot. I think I have one leg that's longer than the other so its a weird balance. Anyway, I hope to be able to make this a habit I don't have to think about.

My run was much better today than they have been. I felt stronger and more back to normal so that's good.

Drove up to Centerville with Scott to do the same 5k we did last year. Met JD, Mrs. JD and my brother in law Gary. It was fun! I thought for a minute I beat my B.I.L. but no such luck. He came in about 45 seconds faster or something annoying like that. I thought it would be a long shot to beat him anyway, so I was happy I at least got close to him! JD kicked butt again. Mrs. JD kicked butt again. And my hubby who HARDLY ever exercises came in at 25 minutes. JERK! Fun morning!
