My first 1/2 Aug. 9, 2008 2:16.12

2008- I ran a 10K and a couple of 5K's  I guess you could say I'm a newborn runner.

2009- Finished the Hobble Creek 1/2 and the Provo River 1/2  And have done 3 more 5k's

2010 Got my PR with the Salt Lake City 1/2 marathon!!

2010 Ran my first marathon!! TOU! Woo Woo!

2011 ran the Salt Lake 1/2 with my brother. Then a few 5k's

2012  Salmon Marathon
 

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

whats my problem? i feel like im starting all over again. Ive got the acid reflux going, jello legs, tired feeling, i guess its better than nothing, but i know ill be mad later. Maybe mad enough to go out again? That depends on the kids. It is nice to vent to a blog now, before i just vent to people who dont run and all i get is "21/2 miles! waaa, i cant even do 1!" Well thats great, but if you're a runner you would understand that 21/2 is frustrating.

Hey, 3 miles this morning, went with Erin my sis-in law. Its her first time to do 3 miles outside!! Actually, its her first time doing 3 miles at all! She has made it 2 1/2 on the treadmill but never 3, so KUDOS ERIN!! Im so proud of her! Tommorow im going to try and sneak in 3 1/2 to 4 with her, im not going to tell her thats the distance, im just going to surprise her when were done. She can do it, its all mental

erin kicked ass again today, im really proud of her! I going to try and go out again later and get in a couple more miles. Last night i thought that was going to happen and i ended up in the e.r. with Soyer, he needed stitches in btwn his 3rd and 4th toe, oouucchhh. Poor kid, they actually couldnt do anything for him bc of the location of the cut, so they told me to keep him clean and wrapped really good to avoid infection. ummm, have you ever tried to keep a 5 yr old boy clean?? it doesnt happen. Anyway, back to the run. It felt SOOO good to be out in the 43* sunshine finally! I have to go back out later, its just too gorgeous.  [oh and by the way James, i realize that i responded to your comment in the wrong place, wont happen again]   Okay its now 5:15 and i could only fit in another mile, so that makes 4 today. Time to go get the kids from bday parties and friends houses before dinner. overall, good, sunny day

I think its 4.5 miles, it was 45 min. on the eliptical and i burned 680 calories. So, my question is what does that mean? Bc if im going by time it would be 4.5 miles, but if im going by calories burned it would be 6 miles or so. Maybe its equal to 4.5 miles at an incline? Probably that one.  Anyway, just signed up for a 5K in Draper on May 16th. Its called signs on the trail, its for deaf kids which is awesome! I love running for a cause, especially that one since my bros deaf.  Also just found out my pregnant running friend is having her 5th girl!!! aaahhh HORMONES in the Haddock home!! Not to mention paying for 5 weddings, ouch. But its all good, everything is healthy so thats all that matters.

hey, 4 miles today which i guess is pretty good considering i was in a fight with myself on weather or not to get up today. Im glad the good side won. Erin showed up for 1.5 of them and then went home. Its friday and im happy about that.

hey, its been 5 days since ive had any endorphin high and boy, have i been mean!! I need that so badly every day in some form or another. My body is weak from being sick and now im going to be coughing up a lung for the next few hrs. but i needed it so bad! Even if it was just a little bit. Hopefully i wont be mommy dearest when the kids get home. Or for that matter, wifey dearest. FEELS SO GOOD TO SWEAT!

FINALLY!! 5 miles, It felt sooo good. BUT, Erin came with me and we got to a point where there is a big hill and its a hard hill, ive done it many times before.. so being the all wise one that i am, i told her "just look down and lean forward and slow your pace." So what does she do? Not only does she pass me up, but she beats me to the top and starts doing the victory dance at the top!! To which i wanted to throw a rock at her...But instead i celebrated her. But seriously, she was AMAZING! It was a fun run and felt so good. Im waiting to hear from my friends who did the Salt Lake 1/2 today, i hope all went well!

hey, went on a busy, high traffic road and it seemed really chaotic. There was alot of stopping at lights and it seemed longer than it really was bc of the chaos. But i felt really good today and ran faster than usual so thats good

We went to a trail today and it was fun but i forgot to turn on my garmin for awhile so i really am not sure how far we went. If felt like 4 but i dont know.  The terrain was kind of rough and i kept hitting dead ends and having to turn around so it got a little frustrating. Im going to go back with my dog and walk it so i have a better idea of where im going next time. But tmrw. i will hit the road again, at least there i can see 3 ft in front of me.

4 miles today. ist mile warm up next 2 miles i did sprints and the last mile cool down. Ive never done sprints and it KICKED MY BUTT!!

Went to the highschool and did sprints. 2 minutes on 1 minute off for 30minutes. 10 minutes of warm up and cool down. It was hard, next time i will warm up and cool down longer, i ran out of time. Had to get home to the kids.   I was feeling really tight, so i did 60 minutes of Brian Kest's yoga video and i feel alot better. {great video, btw}

I was dragging sooo bad today. it was all i could do to finish that. My body is extra sensitive to what i eat etc. and i dont think the hotdog for dinner did it for me. I need to load up on protein and veggies today. My schedule says tomorrow is a rest day, so we will see.
