Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

Cam watched the bean while Erin and I went for a quick run. Felt good, went up a long hill. I was breathing really hard but I needed that. Lab results from dermo came in last night, he wants to see me this afternoon. Have a little bit of skin cancer on my face that we need to look at further. Im sure its fine. Everyone remember to wear your sunscreen when you run!!

I never put anything on my skin.

It feels really good sometimes to workout really hard. Kind of cleansing.

not even soap or deoderant? and you're a runner??

From JD on Wed, Nov 11, 2009 at 16:26:07 from 70.96.78.157

Well, soap doesn't count because I rinse it right off. However, I confess to using B.O. juice. I've tried going without it and things just get scary...and unsocial.

Thank you for wearing deodorant, that is a necessity!

So, what do they have to do with the cancer on the face? And, where is your dermatologist because I need one!!

Thanks for the sunscreen reminder, even in the winter. Very important.

Oh, and super nice job on the hills!! Hills are the worst, but they make you STRONG!

I lost my father to melenoma a couple of years ago. I ALWAYS were sunscreen and in the winter my face cream has an SPF. I hope you get good news today. Remember to stay positive. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Its on my cheek, I grew up with a swimming pool and many trips to Lake powell so Im paying for it now. I have really fair skin and blonde hair so that doesnt help matters. He dug out the problem area and gave me a topical "chemotherapy" cream and I have to go back in 2 weeks and then every 3 to 6 mos. for the rest of my life pretty much.

Kelli, my dermo. is Dr. Gordon Day he is on 11760 S and 700 E. He is the assistant to Dr. Orme but he is much easier to get into than Dr. Orme and I really like him. Very easygoing, reminds me of a ski bum. He has been very thorough.

JD, im really happy you wear deoderant also. That helps us all out.

Amy, so sorry to hear about your dad. I do realize how scary it is, my dad has many scares as well and a few surgeries to cut out large areas of lymph nodes bc of skin cancer but has been lucky.

That is not too far for me to drive, I am going to see if they are on my insurance. THANKS!
