Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

Welcome to the blog! Do you go to the gym, or have an eliptical at home?

Good luck kickin' the DC habit. Please feel free to mock me anytime. LOL!

Good luck kicking the Diet-Coke. That stuff is poison. I'd try a little green tea if the withdrawal starts interfering with life. :)

Welcome to the blog. In my experience, the more miles I run the less crap (ie: DC) I want to consume. I'm in a lull right now, mostly because of sickness and I actually ate a whole box of Peeps today. I don't even like them. In my entire life I might have eaten a whole box if you added them all up--and that's 57 years! I also had a box of Little Debbie's Oatmeal Sandwiches in my hands and was headed to the check out stand when the voice inside my head said, "What the heck are you doing!" Hmmm. Listen to the voice...

Welcome to the blog...I'm trying to kick the diet Dr. Pepper addiction (three days now). I'm over the headache, but not the craving :)

From lysa on Fri, Mar 27, 2009 at 17:36:16 from 76.23.52.240

thanks for the encouragement, its nice to know im not the only one quitting the soda. Do you think the craving will ever go away?

From edrickt on Fri, Mar 27, 2009 at 18:48:21 from 64.2.220.135

When you feel the need for speed the craving will go away. (At least that's what the Zen Master says.)

From Sasha Pachev on Fri, Mar 27, 2009 at 19:19:30 from 192.168.1.1

Cravings are an interesting issue. I think everybody has cravings for things that are not best for them, and they never go away. The ability to deal with them can improve, though, to the point that they are nothing more than a very minor annoyance. It all boils down to your ability to put your higher self ahead of your lower self. When you do, you stop caring about what your lower self wants because you know that it is not you, that the higher self is really you. When this becomes apparent, you will vehemently refuse to be robbed.
