Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

so what do i do when my ankle is a little soar and a little bit swollen but i still have a really big urge to run??? when someone takes something away from me, i want it more, in fact i kind of obsess about it. how long do i need to stay off it? or do i really need to stay off it? i could run maybe just a little???

To me swelling is scary. Have you tried ice baths? I used one every day in college to keep swelling in my shin down. I can deal with pain but when things swell I get scared! Take it easy, cross train, run slow - just listen to your body! You might stay away from hills and speed work for now? I'm a firm believer in taking care of injuries before they escalate it reduces down time in the long run.

Ice, ibuprofen, take a day or two off. Maybe try it out Fri or Saturday. What happened? It might not be serious...
