Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

Keep Running and  Never Give up!

YOGA. I'm embarrassed to say that I still can't walk down my stairs after Saturday's run with JD. Just goes to show you our completely opposite fitness levels. I actually put on the running shoes, went outside to try, got down my street and ouch. Kind of impossible to run without putting any pressure on your legs. Seriously kind of ashamed of this. The only peace I get from it is that I know I ran faster for 10 miles than I ever have before. Even if it was all downhill. Oh well. Good times and now I'm going to make sugar cookies and try not to eat any.

Nothing at all to be ashamed of. That was an awesome, tough run which most people can't even comprehend doing. You're smart to listen to your body and recover - you'll be much stronger for it.

that soreness shows you worked hard on saturday. you are smart to rest and recover properly -- yoga and sugar cookies are an excellent alternative.

thanks JD and allie. It's like Stacie reminded me "Its not who you are that holds you back, its who you think you're not" I am not JD. I am no where close to being allie. And I should be like Stacie but I'm not. I'm me. And I like to eat reeses peanut butter cups chased with an almond joy. And even though I'm not an amazing runner, I like to run. I just need to remember that. {this is my journal entry for the day. so just let me talk okay?} whine whine tantrum whine some more. ;)

p.s. they need to make toilets for runners that are about 2 or 3 ft. taller so you don't have to brace yourself gritting your teeth, only to fall on it abruptly.
