Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

My silly brother got sucked into doing the TOU half next weekend, and he hasn't been training really at all. So he asked me to do 8 with him today. We did our usual long route through dimple dell and left at 5:45 this morning. It was fun. Good to do something over 5. Its been a long time for me. :) Good time. Never regret getting up early to run when its over.

Maybe we need to talk you in to doing the half, too!!! That would be super fun.

Great job on the 8 miler!

You should do the Salt Lake half.

Kelli, are you doing it? Is it a fun one? Stacie and I were saying that it might be fun to do if its the same route the marathon was except it ends at the bottom of the canyon. Is it like that?

And Jeff..are you talking about the one in April? That's my favorite. I guess I could just check out the link.

Totally different Salt Lake Half, it is in a few weeks! I LOVE the one in April, too.

I am running the TOU half. It is not my favorite! It actually starts somewhere around mile 6-7. I think most of the course is the same....until near the end. It is a tough ending-a forever stretch where you can see the finish and you are gradually running uphill. You do get a break the last quarter mile, but you are too tired to enjoy the slight down, if you even notice at all!! I am making it sound appealing, huh????

nice run this early morning! that's neat that you ran with your brother.

everything kelli says about TOU 1/2 is true. don't forget that the finish line is a giant and inflatable and mocks you as you run toward it. really though, it's a great race.

as for the slc half -- highly recommended!! james zwick is the RD -- best in utah, imo.

It is probably a race Allie loves, she seems to like the taunting and hard races. NOT ME, yet I will be there anyway.
