Going on day three without a diet coke. I have been in a detox headache fog for the last two days. I woke up slightly foggy today but much better. That's why yesterdays non-run was for the greater good. I'm not saying that I'm never going to drink another diet coke again. That just simply is not an option for my brain to wrap around right now. What my goal in this is to be over the caffeine addiction. To not Need a diet coke to wake up and get me through the day, but rather have one in the afternoon once in awhile as a treat. 14 years ago I quit coffee, alcohol and cigarettes and could not handle having no vice to turn to. So naturally bc I grew up with a family addicted to coke, I turned to that. I have quit DC a few times over the years but it never lasts. I hope that this time I can really change the way I look at it and it will be successful. I just hope to not HAVE to have something to put in my body to function for the first time in many many years. I hate and hesitate to say any of this out loud though bc I'm such a weakling. Maybe saying it out loud will help me though. In the end If I turn out to be weak, don't judge me. :)

Run was rainy and cold but good.

Nice! Good job getting out in the soup this morning. Good luck with the DC. I drink coffee every morning, and love my caffeine fix, but I quit soda years ago. There's the real health benefit.

you are strong! i mean that. i think you will be successful -- just look what you did with the coffee and cigarettes. i'm sure that was very tough but you proved you could get past it. just hang in there -- a few more days and then it will seem easy.

I still miss coffee JD. Its yummy. Ive been drinking herbal tea in the morning for the past few days. That's yummy too. Reminds me of 218 J

Allie, thanks! I think I'm over the caffeine now I just want the carbonation. I find myself eating crap bc I go to grab a DC out of the fridge, realize I can't and then I open the cupboard for something to put in my mouth. I think I will just become an obsessive gum chewer.

wait a second..let me clarify. I am Not over the caffeine. I just feel better today so I think it is getting out of my system. But I am definitely NOT over it.
