My first 1/2 Aug. 9, 2008 2:16.12

2008- I ran a 10K and a couple of 5K's  I guess you could say I'm a newborn runner.

2009- Finished the Hobble Creek 1/2 and the Provo River 1/2  And have done 3 more 5k's

2010 Got my PR with the Salt Lake City 1/2 marathon!!

2010 Ran my first marathon!! TOU! Woo Woo!

2011 ran the Salt Lake 1/2 with my brother. Then a few 5k's

2012  Salmon Marathon
 

 

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

This run actually started out surprisingly well. I felt good for having not exercised for a week. Other than waterskiing on Monday. But then I made the mistake of going down Highland to Falcon and up the Falcon hill. Thats where it turned into a walk/run. Half way up that hill. Suddenly I had no more energy and I felt hot, muggy and fat. So that's awesome. 
Cam wants me to do the Halloween half with him. I'm deciding. While I was out there I was having thoughts like 'how could I possibly run 13 miles when I can't get through 3. I know. I know. I could do it. But it seems unfathomable right now. Good news is I got a new sports bra and I love it. So that's fun. This is hard.

I saw you as I was leaving for work. Your shirt was so bright you were impossible to miss. I thought it was the sun at first and was moving my sun visor down to block the intensity of your radiance when I realized it was just you.

It looks like we are both trying to get started again. I have this program at work where I get credit for this stuff and it lowers my health insurance premiums once I accumulate so many points, so I've got that for motivation now. I get a bunch of points for doing a race, so maybe I should do that half, too.

Yeah Jeff, i wear that shirt Bc I like to draw as much attention to my big butt and thighs that do the wave when I'm out running. I feel like it helps skinny people feel good about themselves so it's my favor to the hood. I'm super service oriented so it's just one of my good deeds. I'm glad to know that it's working.

Your incentive is good. I need a better incentive than I just feel gross. Bc apparently that hasn't been enough for me. I eat Bc I'm fat and in day Bc I eat. :) vicious cycle.

What's this conversation without me?! Ashley just asked me last night if I wanted to do the halloween half and Jane wants to do it too! I need some motivation! My clothes that used to be big on me are getting tight:( I seriously think I've gained 10 lbs this summer. I'm scared to get on the scale. I should just be grateful that I'm healthy and can run. I know.
