Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

Keep Running and  Never Give up!

Slow hilly run. Went up NC, past buffalo, down AC then over to Viscounti, up 8600 then around the hood to make it 8. 10:31avg. Felt pretty good the whole time but I was taking it easy.

JD has me thinking about the salmon marathon in Sept. But I'm just thinking right now. Not committing yet. But I do like the looks of it.

just read Thayne's blog. Apparently he is to blame for putting this idea in JD's mind and then for JD putting it into mine. It's all Thaynes fault! I blame him for my panicky thoughts I now have.

great 8!

no need for panic. marathons are fun - and this particular marathon is 8 months away. but shhh...don't tell people about the salmon marathon, they cap it at 300 runners.

Good Run! Don't worry about the hills at mile 7/13...7 is steep and short and early enough that you can burn up it it has nice downhills after for recovery. 13 is longer and not as steep it was slow for me but its pretty cool that you come down the same road so people are giving you encouragement all the way up. And I gotta kiss Wendy because 17 is across the street from 13 and she was checking her feet at 13 as I came down past 17. The scenery is gorgeous and you'll forget about everything else:)

nice 8, lysa. the salmon marathon looks really cool. i especially like the idea of floating the river after the race. good luck with your decision -- you have plenty of time.
