Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

I felt good today. I had to stop and wait for Erin a few times. Should I worry about that? Am I getting a good work out if I have to keep stopping? I'm worried its going to affect my training and marathon. Tell me what you think..

hmmmmmmmmmm. mmmmhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm. Are you running every day with her? Could you do some speed days alone or...with someone else:) I need someone to go to the track with me once a week.

From Stacie on Tue, May 15, 2012 at 10:26:21 from 67.186.246.187

or just do a faster run with me once a week. not that I'm miss speedy, but...

I could do speed days with her and you. At the track. It would do her some good to do that too. I don't know what the deal is, she used to be much faster than this. And I don't want to throw her under the bus, I mean, everyone knows I'm no speed demon, but I feel like this is extra slow. I just don't want my own training to suffer. But I also want to be patient and help her get to the marathon. I know on long runs it won't matter so much, but I want to sweat on those also ya know..I keep saying its only been a week, she will speed up. I just hope that's true.

And you are fast Stacie. It's hard for me to keep up with you but also good for me. I guess the same way its good for Erin to try and keep up, eventually she has to right?? wrong. I never caught up with you. IDK. I just don't want to worry if its not that big of a deal but at the same time, I don't want to get too frustrated.

i'm guessing Erin will get much faster if she runs consistently for a few weeks.

From Lysa on Tue, May 15, 2012 at 12:28:18 from 67.166.122.134

on the flip side, I don't want to keep running ahead of her bc I know that's not good for the head either. I remember being really frustrated that I could never catch you Stacie, and it made me feel like I was weak. When In fact I wasn't. I just don't want to mess with her head either.

SO my final answer is this

Stacie, lets do speed work once a week at that track, the three of us. Bc we can do our own thing there.

And I will remain patient and run with Erin. She will speed up. And maybe she will pass me up one day. That wouldn't surprise me either.

Thanks for letting me think out loud and for your words

Don't stop turn around, run back and pick her up instead it will only add mileage on:) Definitley do the speed work together on the track with Stacie too. Just run at your own pace.
