Short-Term Running Goals:

Maybe run a few more marathons?? Stay healthy, motivated and consistent.  Races are fun, but unlike the hokey pokey, its not what its all about for me.  Its about health, sanity and feeling great about myself bc I can call myself a runner. :)

Woke up at 5:30 to go run at 6:00,  bc school started today. I had to be  home before my jr. high student left at 7:30. Which I had plenty of time, but I needed to be here to help her get ready.  Felt pretty good, better than I thought I would after Saturday. Still can't believe I'm running a marathon in a few weeks. I honestly don't know how I will do it. Let me re-phrase, I honestly don't know how I will do it without walking and coming in at a really bad time. Whatever. Such is life, it is what it is at this point. I guess all that matters is that I finish it right?

It will be cooler weather. I'm sure that will help. You need to just "chill" (who says that?)and stop worrying about the marathon. All you can do is your best. Just be where you're at cause you're already there. I'm serious! Go do some yoga, Bry will help you calm down :) You'll be fine. You will finish the marathon and you'll finish strong! You are strong Lysa!

I realize that sounded negative, I didn't mean it to come out that way. I meant to say, that I'm worried about my time being almost 5 hours. Even if that is 4:45 or whatever. And it's not that I will be disappointed with 4:45, its that I don't want to be running/walking for that long! I want my super powers to take over so that that doesn't happen. Does that make sense? That's what I mean about "bad" time. And you are right, I need to do some yoga. My hunched over pictures that Scott took of me are telling me that my core is extremely weak.

We need to figure out how to keep you from getting those darn blisters! It didn't sound negative. It just sounds like you're worried about what's coming and I don't want you to be. Take it a day at a time.

When I told you to chill I was hearing your voice cause you say that a lot (not to me) so I was quoting you :)

Chillax. Lol! Being your very first marathon, there is absolutely no pressure to do anything but finish, no matter how long it takes. Just getting to the starting line, prepared to run a marathon, is an accomplishment in itself. The actual running of the marathon is party time! Just be prepared to enjoy the day, the beautiful course, the other wacky runners surrounding you, and the wonderful odors of sweat.

Yeah. Listen to him.

speaking of sweat, there was a guy I passed on the hobblecreek that smelled so strongly that I almost gagged. I'm sure I was no bed of roses, but HOLY SMOKES!
